Have you read Bill Bryson’s hysterical book about walking the Appalachian Trail? Highly recommended.
I read Bill Bryson’s book – it’s really good! Although it did turn me off from wanting to do a serious walk of the trail, though, since it wasn’t close to civilization and there were very few places to sleep other than your own tent. I’m sure that’s the point, though. Not to mention, Mark Sanford may have ruined the trail for the rest of us 😉
